Assistant professor position in ethics

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a full-time junior position in the field of ethics. The position will be a joint appointment between the Department of Philosophy (2/3) and the newly founded School of Public Policy and International Affairs (1/3). The candidate's research should be on some area in ethics. The successful applicant will be expected to teach graduate courses on central issues in ethics and metaethics, as well as courses in some field in applied ethics (for example bioethics, or environmental ethics, or the moral status of animals, etc.).

Daniel Kodaj receives CEU Academic Award for Doctoral Students

 

It is with great pleasure that we announce that by the decision of the University Doctoral Committee our PhD student Daniel Kodaj received a CEU's FIRST YEAR DOCTORAL STUDENTS AWARD for the Academic year 2010/11.
 

The CEU Academic Achievement Awards for First-Year Doctoral Students are meant to reward outstanding coursework and performance during the comprehensive exam. Annually there are 5-10 awards to be distributed.

The Human Project held two workshops at the Department of Philosophy on November 15 and 16, focusing on the works of two philosophers who work in the related fields of freedom and agency.

We had our 4th Inhouse Graduate Conference

The Department of Philosophy held its annual Inhouse Graduate Conference on Friday and Saturday, October 14-15. The keynote speaker was Csaba Pleh, professor at the Technical University, who is this year also a visiting professor at CEU's Cognitive Science Department.
